About CompFoundry

Building compensation systems shouldn't start with a blank spreadsheet.

CompFoundry was created to help compensation professionals, HR teams, and growing organizations build practical compensation systems with confidence.

Every year, compensation teams face the same challenge: planning annual compensation cycles, designing salary structures, communicating pay decisions, and enabling managers—all while balancing business goals, market competitiveness, and employee trust.

Yet many teams are still rebuilding the same spreadsheets, presentations, and planning documents from scratch.

CompFoundry exists to change that.

We create practical toolkits, templates, and operational resources designed to help compensation professionals spend less time reinventing processes and more time building compensation programs that scale.

Whether you're preparing for your first compensation cycle or refining a mature compensation function, our goal is the same:

Give you the practical systems we wish someone had handed us years ago.

Hi, I'm Emily Hartmann.

I'm a compensation professional with experience building and scaling compensation programs across startups, high-growth SaaS companies, and global organizations.

Over the past decade, I've partnered with executives, Finance, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to design compensation strategies that balance market competitiveness, internal equity, and business growth. My work has included leading global compensation cycles, building job architecture and salary structures, developing manager enablement programs, supporting executive compensation decisions, and implementing compensation systems in various HR platforms.

What I enjoy most about compensation isn't the spreadsheets—it's creating clarity.

Helping managers explain pay with confidence.

Helping HR teams build scalable processes.

Helping leaders make thoughtful compensation decisions.

CompFoundry brings together the tools, templates, and lessons I've built throughout my career into one place, with the hope that they'll save someone else the weeks of work I once spent building them from scratch.
